Spinal training · A world first

SPINEFITTER by SISSEL®

Twenty-eight spheres. Two rows. The whole length of the spine.

Lie along the SPINEFITTER and follow the guided sequence. The two rows of spheres sit either side of the spine, releasing the tension that builds in the back muscles and giving the small joints of the spine room to move again. The pressure of the spheres stimulates points along the spinal column, so the body finds its balance and mobility improves.

It combines release and strengthening in one tool, and works equally well at home with a video, in a group class or under professional guidance — which is why studios and physiotherapy centres use it alongside individual practice.

Myofascial training

SISSEL® OCTOCORE

Connecting the kinetic chain — coordination trained as one whole-body movement.

  • Developed on the Anatomy Trains model of Thomas Myers, so whole-body, multi-dimensional training gains both strength and variety.
  • Activates the myofascial lines and links the muscular chains of the whole body. The rebound of the ring feeds back to the body and invites more stretch and more spiral movement.
  • Stretch and resistance in the same movement, with the ring providing support — a dynamic stability that makes training more complete and more adaptable.
  • Teaches the body to find its own chain: how to generate force, and where it should come from.

Multi-dimensional taping

SISSEL® EPIFLOW multi-dimensional traction tape

Three simple steps — and a new field of application for kinesiology tape.

Kinesiology taping reached its peak of development in the early 1970s. It became part of modern physiotherapy, and the way it is applied has barely changed since. Time to look ahead: sometimes a small innovation sets off a large step forward. With that in mind, SISSEL has taken the classic kinesiology tape one step further and opened up a new application — multi-dimensional traction taping: the tape is lifted, rotated and shifted to work on the target region in six dimensions, rather than only supporting or restricting a joint.

  1. Cutting a length of EPIFLOW tape01 CutMeasure the length you need and round the corners (optional).
  2. Splitting the backing paper of the tape02 PrepareSplit the backing paper and set the anchor without stretch.
  3. Applying the tape to the waist with a lifting motion03 Apply with directionLift, rotate and shift — the tape guides the movement you want to encourage.

The SISSEL® story

From a Swedish idea to Asia’s studios

Swedish living is healthy living: nature, fresh air, movement, and a clarity that keeps only what is essential. SISSEL® grew out of that idea.

Sweden, where it began

1986 — a pillow, and a name

In 1986, in Sweden, Carl-Emil Christensen and his wife Sissel developed an orthopaedic pillow that gave the lower cervical spine natural, effective support. Doctors, therapists and their patients took to it, and the SISSEL® neck pillow spread from Scandinavia across Europe. Back cushions and posture supports are still manufactured in Sweden today.

1989 — Germany

The Swedish-German brothers Jens and Lars Friebel came to the pillow through their Swedish mother, Margareta, and brought it to Germany in 1989 as the SISSEL® Classic. In 2002 they acquired the brand together with partners and moved its international headquarters to Bad Dürkheim in the Palatinate, where SISSEL GmbH develops the range today under ISO 13485 quality certification. Production remains in Sweden and Germany, with selected products made in Europe and Asia to SISSEL specification.
