Description
Conventional kinesiology taping is largely about support and restriction — holding a joint, limiting a range. It has changed very little since the technique was developed in the 1970s.
EPIFLOW works differently. Its three-dimensional structure, combined with a directional application technique, allows the tape to pull in more than one plane — lift, rotation, lateral and anterior-posterior. The result is directional guidance and sensory input to the skin, rather than passive support.
It is also designed so the wearer can apply it themselves, which makes it a tool for carrying the work out of the session and into the week.
Application notes:
- Clean the area before application; shave longer body hair first
- The tape can get wet — pat dry with a towel or tissue, do not rub
- One application lasts 2–3 days
- Remove immediately if itching, discomfort or any reaction occurs, and allow the skin to settle fully before reapplying
- Do not apply over open wounds
EPIFLOW is taught through the HLA EPIFLOW Multi-dimensional Taping Method certification, which covers the directional techniques the tape is designed around.
