Description

Real movement — walking, throwing, lifting — is never produced by one muscle. Force travels from the ground through the trunk to the limbs along continuous myofascial chains. Training a single muscle strengthens one link; it does not improve how the chain transmits.

OCTOCORE was developed on Thomas Myers’ Anatomy Trains model, to train those chains directly and in more than one plane.

What chain training addresses:

  • Force transmission. Strengthening every link along the path, so force reaches the limb without dissipating.
  • Stability. Dynamic stability comes from balanced tension across several chains — like guy ropes on a tent — not from one group of core muscles.
  • Movement efficiency. Fascia stores and returns elastic energy; chain training makes use of that return rather than working against it.
  • Resilience. Weak links are found and addressed, and load is distributed more evenly across the structure.

What the OCTOCORE training programme works on:

  • Activating or re-awakening muscle chains
  • Deep muscular strength
  • Body awareness and proprioception
  • Maintaining an upright position
  • Eccentric loading
  • Release, relaxation and lengthening
  • Rebound capacity
